Hiring

We are not your big box engineering firm. When you call our office, someone will answer the phone. We care deeply about your projects and will not assign the JV squad to design your job - the only JV we have is the Principal-in-Charge. We are #hiring. Know anyone who might be interested?

After more than four decades of dedicated service in the mechanical engineering field, Dimitri J. Ververelli, Inc. is honored to announce the retirement of David Gilbert, Vice President, Project Director, Manager, and Mechanical Engineer.

Since joining DJVI in 1998, Dave has been an integral part of our team, leading the design and implementation of advanced HVAC and building automation systems across a wide array of sectors—including health care, education, research, historical renovation, and industrial facilities. His projects have ranged from laboratories and central utility plants to multi-building research campuses and critical infrastructure upgrades.

With a career spanning over 40 years, Dave brought to DJVI a unique and comprehensive understanding of engineering—rooted in his experience as a Project Engineer for Owners, an Applications Engineer in manufacturing, and most recently, a Consulting Professional Engineer. His technical depth, practical insight, and collaborative approach have contributed significantly to the firm’s success and reputation.

Throughout his time with DJVI, Dave has been a trusted Project Manager for longstanding clients such as Drexel University, ExxonMobil Research & Engineering, the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, and Thomas Jefferson University, among many others. Prior to his time at DJVI, Dave served as Manager of Engineering at Strobic Air Corporation, where he developed innovative laboratory and hospital exhaust systems and led safety and control strategy initiatives for global technology firms.

Beyond his technical contributions, Dave’s mentorship, leadership, and commitment to sustainable, energy-efficient design have left a lasting legacy. His presence will be greatly missed, both professionally and personally, by colleagues and clients alike.

Please join us in congratulating Dave on his well-earned retirement and in thanking him for his extraordinary career and impact. We wish him all the best as he begins this exciting new chapter with his wife Becky.

The principals of DJVI – John Ververelli, John Barton and Nicholas Haas – congratulate Dave on his retirement and are available for any questions as this transition takes place.

Thank you, Dave!!!
