John Barton is responsible for overseeing all electrical engineering services in the areas of commercial, retail, medical, education, historical renovation, public spaces, theatre, and industrial projects for Dimitri J. Ververelli, Inc., Consulting Engineers.

Specifically, Mr. Barton has been responsible for the design of central data processing centers, medium and low voltage distribution systems, substations, lighting and controls, energy management systems, security and fire alarm systems, and lightning protection.  In addition, John has extensive experience in multi-building office and research complexes, high rise buildings, emergency power, and central plant utilities.

Mr. Barton develops each project design concept to ensure the engineering elements of the project are integrated with the building architecture while upholding rigorous energy conservation and performance standards.

With over two decades of engineering expertise, Nick is a seasoned professional specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection engineering. His career spans multiple sectors including higher education, corporate, government, science and technology, and municipal projects. Known for his strategic leadership and technical depth, he has spent more than 10 years managing complex infrastructure initiatives, primarily in the higher education sector.

John has over 45 years of experience in the engineering and design of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, and energy management systems and oversees all engineering services.  He has been with the firm since 1982.

John has extensive experience in the design of central chilled water plants, life cycle cost analysis, and building automation systems. John is able to manage a variety of building and industrial projects with a strong foundation and hands on experience in facilities design, construction planning, cost estimating and scheduling. John believes that well thought out and thorough planning of capital projects are the root of successful comprehensive ventures.
